Squat Bar Definition

Squat Bar

A squat bar is a piece of equipment that is used to help the mother in labor to achieve a squatting position. This position is said to be more beneficial than other positions in helping the baby to descend through the birth canal. The squat bar may also be called a delivery bar, labor bar, or birthing bar.

Squat Bar vs. Birthing Stool

Squat bar is somehow closely related to the term birthing stool, which is a piece of furniture that is also used to help the mother in labor to achieve a squatting position. The main difference between the two terms is that a squat bar is typically attached to a stand or frame, while a birthing stool is not.

The only advantage of this Squat bar is that the height adjustable, which means that it can be made to fit the needs of any woman. This is important because not all women are the same height, and so a one-size-fits-all birthing stool may not be ideal for everyone. Additionally, a squat bar typically has a wider surface area than a birthing stool, which makes it more comfortable for the woman to use.
